You can open an OCR processed PDF file in AppWriter using the built-in “open in” function on your iPad. The PDF file can then be read aloud and the words will be selected during the reading.

You can, for example, open a PDF file from Safari by clicking on “open in” and select AppWriter on the list of apps.
