It is possible to get PDF files read with AppWriter on Android. You can open PDFs from your imported PDFs in AppWriter from Google Drive or OneDrive. After opening a PDF, you can read it by pressing the play button in the upper right corner.

Here you can freely add words, get readings and all other functions, as if it were a text you had written yourself in the AppWriter text program.
